“Mitosis” translates the hallucinatory spirit of Brandy Butler’s LSD-inspired opera into a visual language of metamorphosis. It visualises the moment where inner and outer worlds split, mirror and regenerate.
Cells, spirits, memories and visions fold into one another, expanding into fluid new forms. The work echoes the piece’s exploration of altered perception — where boundaries dissolve, time stretches, and the body becomes a landscape of infinite transformation. Here, mythic creatures, shifting membranes and refracted light trace the quiet drama of renewal. Nothing remains fixed; everything divides, evolves, and reconnects in a continuous, luminous cycle of becoming.
